They came from the bowels Underground Subway link closed and sourced In ancient deep watercourse. Incubating mighty long And developing into Monstrous scaled Proportion. Breathing fire. Incinerating everywhere. Humans or defense As we knew it Infrastructures Vehicles, crops. Artillery. All expended hopes For response And resistance. No resistance honestly. All major cities fell. Crowds scurried to hinterlands. Like rats. Prayers. Shelters down deep. Security drills rehearsed. Hoping the day would never Come Dragons. Mystical worldwide villains. And crafty.

Ram Caught in a Thicket (genesis)

1966 film My thought went early this morning to a scene in the classic movie The Bible . Portions of the Book of Genesis are portrayed vividly. In particular I remember John Huston with that big smile, taking the part of Noah and welcoming the animals into the Ark. I remember also a cranky George C. Scott as Abraham in his time of testing with the commanded mountain-top sacrifice of son Isaac.It surprised me that Scott would roar as he scaled the height with his son and the firewood and the flame. But how much more real it seemed than a bland obeisance. Much of the religious art fails to get this. The son is a young man. Everything his Father orders he obeys. He climbs upon the makeshift stone altar. He allows the bindings. He remembers the Father's words of a short time before, "The boy and I will be back after a while".Such faith! Suddenly a Homeless One

Tom could not recall all the steps. Company pulled back into the States. The Canadian branch plant had proved too costly. Wages and benefits. Rumblings of union certification. Six weeks notice given to a workforce of 45. And fairly well skilled. He was now without the apartment. Live-in girlfriend Trina had gotten cold feet and scampered to her sister’s place. Now it was a tent in a Corner Lot with others suffering diverse misfortunes. The City gathering ammunition arguments to shut the whole thing down. Soon there would be a hearing in Court. Newfound friends told stories of past retreats under a bridge, break-ins to storage sheds, or through back doors of houses for sale. Not very pretty. Nothing to brag about. Felt like the only solution at the time. Or perhaps a space on a hard auditorium floor out of the cold. Night by night hassles to get in. And Sharing was characteristic of most of them.
